Karen VanCampRe-Entry Executive Director

Karen is the executive director of Re-Entry Recovery Residences and comes to us with over 27 years of experience working in the field of recovery. After moving to Tennessee she became frustrated with the absence of programs in the area for newly recovering addicts. Having spent time in a transitional living house herself in early recovery; she understood their importance and wanted the recovery community in Tennessee to have the opportunity to benefit from long term treatment just as she had. So, in 1992 Karen and her husband Brian put their desire to help others into action opening the first transitional living house in middle Tennessee area.

Re-Entry is a positive living environment for healing and sobriety; utilizing the 12 steps, group therapy, education, and structure to help clients change their life. Karen practices a hands on approach in working with clients at re-entry, helping clients any way she can; using her experience and skill to encourage clients to maintain recovery. She understands the discouragement of addiction and the hope of recovery; and her own story is a constant demonstration of how the 12 steps work. Her Passion for both recovery and her clients is what makes Re-Entry so special, because it makes it more than just a place to live; but rather a place where each client knows they have someone who genuinely believes in them even if they don’t yet believe in themselves.
